Coverage

Council files, year by year

Every file the City Clerk lists, by the year it opened. The record thins before 1980 and is metadata-only before 2017; the vote layer begins in 2023.

Roll calls with the narrowest margins. The tally is exactly what the City Clerk's document records.

A close vote is not a scandal, and an absence is not a motive. This page reports the count on the page and links to the source. Why a member voted or missed a vote is not in this data, and we do not guess.
Attendance

Days present, days absent

Meeting days a member cast at least one vote, versus days the record shows none. Counted in days, not agenda items - a member absent on a 40-item day is not "absent 40 times."

How we know it's right

Every vote, checked twice

The roll calls are read by a parser and independently re-read from the original PDF as an image. Where the two disagree, we adjudicate against the City's document - and log it.
